Wnet Announces Rebranding, now to be known as PayTech Women

Women’s Network in Electronic Transactions (Wnet) has revealed a new name and transformed brand to better represent today’s industry.

Kent, OH – Women’s Network in Electronic Transactions (Wnet), a non-profit organization dedicated to the women of the payments and fintech industry, revealed yesterday at its annual conference, the Leadership Summit, EmPowered by FIS, that it had completed a rebranding and will now be known as PayTech Women (PTW). The rebranding announcement is the result of substantial growth in both membership and partnerships that have culminated in the expanded and rebranded organization, striving to create a world where a woman’s potential is as unlimited as her ambition.

Since its founding  in 2006, the organization has remained committed to its mission to create a stronger and more diverse industry by empowering and investing in women. Following the rebranding, PayTech Women will continue to provide and build upon the existing programs and services their members have grown to know and love, including the Annual Leadership Summit, leadership development webinars, mentoring, PayTech Women Live and more. Through these programs and local Chapters, PayTech Women will continue to support its 5,000+ members – including more than 400 volunteers and 700 mentors – to break barriers and achieve ambitions in the payments industry.

“Our organizational goals will not change, and we will always strive to create a stronger and more diverse industry by helping  women rise,” said PayTech Women CEO Wendy Holliday, M.Ed., CAE. “Payments is an industry that evolves at a rapid pace and backed by the support of our members and founders, it is time  to evolve our brand to better reflect our membership and industry.”

The new name, contemporary logo, and fresh colors reflect  the organization’s involvement within the payments and fintech community and better represent efforts to help women  rise, thrive, and connect within the industry. PayTech Women is an inclusive organization welcoming  all individuals  who are committed to driving the change for expanded  gender equity in the payments workforce and creating a more women-friendly environment – regardless of job level, culture and ethnic background, sexual orientation or gender identity.

The rebranding journey began under the leadership of Wnet 2020 Board President Joan Herbig, Merchant PACT Board Director and former ControlScan CEO, as the organization prepared for its 15th anniversary celebration. “As Wnet entered the next phase of its growth with new global partnerships and virtual events such as PayTechWomenLive, it was important for us to ensure our brand aligned to today’s business environment and the fintech space,” noted Herbig. With the support of the Board and new CEO Wendy Holliday, rebranding become a priority for 2021 Board President Mary Uslander, Senior Vice President and Head of SMB Solutions, Fiserv. “After surveying our membership, we knew the time was right to conduct more research and interview our key stakeholders to define unique value prop and messaging strategy for the future,” explained Uslander.

Throughout 2021 and 2022, a dedicated team of Wnet volunteers focused on a new vision for the brand and logo while working with an award-winning PR company, The Fletcher Group, to make it come to life. “I am thrilled with the creativity and collaboration of our Branding Team who have delivered a fresh and energetic new branding to engage our members to Rise, Thrive and Connect as women in the paytech industries,” said Wnet 2022 Board President Kelly Tufts, Vice President, Field Talent, Discover. “I am extremely proud of how far we have come and grateful to our PayTech Women team and members who are so committed to our mission,” Tufts continued. “Without their feedback and innovative ideas, we would be unable to provide the incredible services we do or make this new growth a reality.”

All current memberships will transfer, and PayTech Women will remain a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. For more information about PayTech Women’s national and regional events and programming or to become a member or sponsor, visit paytechwomen.org. Follow PayTech Women on LinkedIn and Twitter.
