Vault CPS, you may have known us in the past as the Phoenix Group. Vault CPS delivers secure key injection and software loading solutions for the payments and device provisioning industry. We provide trusted cryptographic key management, secure deployment, and reliable device programming, helping businesses protect sensitive data with proven security expertise.
Why did you join RSPA?
At Vault CPS, we draw on decades of The Phoenix Group history, and speed has always been core to who we are. Every hour between a device leaving the factory and going live at a merchant is an hour of lost revenue and a frustrated acquirer or terminal provider.
We joined RSPA because our acquirer and integrator partners face the same challenge every day: getting secure, provisioned payment devices into the field fast. Key injection and software loading are often the invisible bottleneck, with devices sitting unboxed in warehouses while merchants wait on hard opening dates.
Real speed takes infrastructure most providers haven’t built: dedicated secure facilities, streamlined software loading, redundant capacity, and transparent communication. Security and compliance are non-negotiable, so speed comes from efficient processes, not shortcuts.
RSPA’s members, acquirers, ISOs, and integrators, are directly accountable to merchants for on-time deployments. They already understand why a two-week turnaround can make or break a launch. That shared urgency is why this membership matters to us.
Backed by our Phoenix Group roots, Vault CPS removes key injection and software loading as a bottleneck, helping RSPA members deploy faster without compromising security.
What are the core values of your company?
Vault CPS delivers secure key injection and software loading solutions for the payments and device provisioning industry, drawing on decades of history as the Phoenix Group. We help acquirers, ISOs, and integrators get payment devices into the field quickly, securely, and ready to perform.
Our work is guided by five core values. We’re Customer Obsessed, building every process around the timelines and pressures our partners actually face. We Execute Relentlessly, treating speed and reliability as non-negotiable in a security-critical industry. We lead with Respect and Empathy, valuing the people behind every partnership and every transaction. We’re committed to Doing the Right Thing, holding security, compliance, and integrity above shortcuts. And we stay Committed to the Vision, building toward a future where secure device deployment is never the bottleneck standing between a merchant and their next transaction.
These values shape how we operate every day, from the security of our facilities to the way we communicate with partners. At Vault CPS, doing things right and doing them fast aren’t in conflict. They’re both simply how we work.
What verticals do you serve?
Vault CPS serves acquirers, ISOs, VARs, and integrators across the payments and retail technology industry, as well as the merchants who ultimately depend on their payment devices working reliably from day one. Our partners range from regional acquirers managing multi-site rollouts to national terminal providers deploying thousands of devices across diverse merchant environments, including retail, hospitality, and quick-service industries. Whatever the scale, our partners share the same need: a provisioning partner who can move at the speed their business demands, without compromising on security or compliance.
What products/services do you provide?
Vault CPS provides end-to-end support for payment device deployment and lifecycle management, supplying terminals as well as the services that get them field-ready. We source and supply payment terminals to acquirers, ISOs, and integrators, then support them with secure key injection, delivering PCI-compliant cryptographic key loading at scale, and software loading, configuring and validating device software for specific merchant environments before deployment.
Beyond deployment, we also offer terminal repair services, extending the life of payment devices and reducing the cost and waste of full replacements. When a terminal fails in the field, our repair capabilities help partners get it back into service quickly, rather than absorbing the delay and expense of sourcing new hardware.
From supplying terminals to provisioning them for rollout to repairing devices already in the field, Vault CPS supports the full device lifecycle. Our goal is to be a single, dependable partner for the hardware and technical work behind every payment device, so our partners can focus on their merchants instead of managing multiple vendors.
Name one fun fact that makes your company different from others.
One of our best-kept secrets: Vault CPS maintains one of the largest key libraries in the industry, built up over decades of Phoenix Group history. That library gives us the scale to support massive, multi-thousand-device rollouts for national acquirers, but the systems and flexibility to turn around a single terminal just as fast for a small merchant. Most providers are built for one end of that spectrum or the other. We’re built for both.
What is the most encouraging thing you see for the future of the retail IT industry?
The most encouraging thing we see is how quickly the industry is embracing speed and flexibility as core requirements, not afterthoughts. Merchants are demanding faster rollouts, acquirers are compressing deployment windows, and the entire supply chain, from hardware to provisioning to software, is being pushed to move in step. That pressure is driving real innovation in how devices get built, secured, and deployed.
At the same time, security expectations keep rising rather than being traded off for speed. That tells us the industry is maturing in the right direction: faster deployments and stronger security aren’t seen as competing goals anymore, they’re both simply expected. For a company like Vault CPS, built around delivering both, that’s an encouraging trend. It means the partners and technology built to solve for speed and security together are exactly what the industry needs going forward.
