Why did you join RSPA?
We joined the RSPA to become an active part of the retail technology community and build long-term relationships with POS providers, ISVs, VARs, hardware manufacturers, and solution integrators. As V5iD expands from AI-powered identity verification software into integrated ID scanning devices, we see the channel as a key part of our growth strategy. We want to learn from experienced channel partners, better understand the needs of retailers and hospitality businesses, and develop solutions that help our partners deliver greater value to their customers. Our goal is to make identity verification, age verification, and fraud prevention easy to integrate into POS systems, kiosks, and self-service applications through our cloud platform and Device Integration Hub. We believe RSPA provides the ideal community to collaborate, innovate, and build partnerships that benefit both our company and fellow members.

V5iD provides AI-powered identity verification solutions that help businesses verify customer identities, prevent fraud, streamline age verification, and simplify regulatory compliance. Our cloud platform supports document verification, ID barcode and MRZ parsing, remote identity verification, liveness detection, phone and email verification, and AI-driven signature verification.
We also offer integrated ID scanning solutions and our Device Integration Hub, enabling seamless connectivity with ID scanners, cameras, signature pads, and other peripherals used in POS systems, kiosks, and self-service applications. Our APIs and SDKs make it easy for software developers, ISVs, POS providers, and system integrators to embed secure identity verification into their applications.
Looking ahead, V5iD is expanding its product portfolio with a new family of intelligent ID scanning devices designed for retail, hospitality, financial services, and other regulated industries. These devices will complement our cloud platform and provide customers and channel partners with complete, end-to-end identity verification solutions.
Name one fun fact that makes your company different from others.
One of our favorite challenges is integrating new devices. If it scans IDs, captures signatures, takes photos, or connects to a POS system, there’s a good chance we’ll want to integrate it. We believe in an open identity verification ecosystem—not locking customers into proprietary hardware. Our platform works with a growing range of ID scanners, cameras, signature pads, kiosks, and POS systems, and we’re even developing our own intelligent ID scanners. We believe customers should choose the hardware that best fits their business, while V5iD makes it all work together seamlessly.
What is the most encouraging thing you see for the future of the retail IT industry?
The future of retail IT is becoming more connected, intelligent, and customer-centric. We’re excited to see AI moving beyond automation to help retailers make better decisions, reduce fraud, and deliver faster, more personalized customer experiences. At the same time, the growing adoption of self-service, mobile identities (mDLs), digital credentials, and omnichannel commerce is creating new opportunities for secure identity verification at every customer touchpoint.
Perhaps most encouraging is the industry’s growing commitment to open integration. Retailers increasingly expect solutions that work together rather than isolated products that create vendor lock-in.
