RSPA Creates Restaurant Revitalization Fund Resource for Foodservice Operators

CHARLOTTE, NC – To help foodservice operators and the technology solution providers who serve them, the RSPA (Retail Solutions Providers Association) has produced a 55-minute video “Navigating the New $28.6B Restaurant Revitalization Fund” featuring guidance from RSPA General Counsel Jill Miller.

In the video, Atty. Miller answers important questions including:

  • What is this new law?
  • How will this law impact the restaurant industry and adjacent verticals?
  • What do foodservice operators need to know and what actions should they take?
  • What do IT solution providers need to know and what actions should they take?

“Our team has a deep respect for what restauranters have endured,” said RSPA President and CEO John Kirk. “They have adjusted and refined their offerings to navigate the realities of the pandemic. Operators have been confronted with the unique challenge of caring for the health and safety of their teams and their customers while protecting their businesses. The RSPA considers it a privilege to assist in their journey in any way possible. We look forward to more opportunities to bring the power of the RSPA to merchants as we serve the retail industry.”

On March 11, 2021, the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act was signed into law and established a $28.6 billion Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF). RRF funds will be available to restaurants, bars, food stands, food trucks, caterers, and many other kinds of foodservice businesses. Businesses who qualify will receive a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration to cover a broad range of expenses including payroll; mortgage, rent, and utilities; maintenance; outdoor seating construction; supplies, PPE (personal protective equipment), and cleaning materials; operational expenses (which could include hardware, software, and related technology purchases) as well as any other expenses the SBA determines to be essential to maintaining operations.
