NCC Releases Semi-Integrated EMV-Enabled Solution

NCC prepares resellers for the 2015 liability shift.

Greenville, SC – National Computer Corporation (NCC), a leading software developer for retail and restaurant point of sale systems, has partnered with Ingenico, a trailblazer in the industry for EMV point of sale solutions, and Sterling Payment Technologies, a nationally recognized payment technology provider, to introduce its first semi-integrated EMV solution for the United States market. This new, EMV-enabled interface is available with NCC’s Reflection POS.

Semi-integrated EMV solutions eliminate the need for payment application recertification and means that the POS and other applications can be changed flexibly. This takes the core POS applications out of scope for EMV by card type. The transmission of the payment data never touches the POS as it is limited to the payment application and the processor. This can potentially take the POS application out of scope for PCI (Payment Card Industry) certification as well.

Many consumers are adopting new payment forms, so offering a variety of payment options has become a valuable asset for businesses. Ingenico provides innovative and secure EMV-enabled solutions for all business segments”including retail and food service markets. Their payment solutions are designed to accommodate all forms of electronic payment, including EMV Chip and PIN, EMV Chip and Signature, contactless, and mobile NFC (Apple Pay and Google Wallet mobile payment applications).

Ingenico’s EMV-enabled solutions are integrated with Sterling Payment Technologies. By combining the expertise of these industry leaders, businesses will be able to process all major credit, debit, and fleet card networks, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Chuck Prince, Vice President of NCC, said, “NCC has selected Sterling Payment Technologies, a partner of Chase Paymentech and Ingenico, to offer this EMV solution to the POS reseller channel in the United States. We’re excited to announce that this interface is now available with Reflection POS through NCC Resellers.”
