Please provide a description of your company in 50 words or less.
Tender Retail is independent payment middleware. For 40 years, VARs, ISVs, and solution providers have integrated it between POS, devices, and processors to give enterprise retailers acquirer choice, lower cost, and higher revenue. Deployments across North America and Latin America. Part of Harris Computer within Constellation Software.
Why did you join RSPA?
Tender Retail works through and alongside POS providers, ISVs, and resellers, so the RSPA community is where our partners and prospects already are. We joined to connect with solution providers building for retail, stay close to where the channel is heading, and find partners whose customers need flexible, acquirer and device-independent payment integration.
What are the core values of your company?
As part of the Harris Computer group, Tender Retail is built on a shared set of values. The ones that most define how we work: respect for the individual above everything else, disciplined focus on operational excellence, a bias toward solutions and common sense, and accountability. We own our part rather than pass it along. These values shape how we build our platform and how we work with partners and customers.
What verticals do you serve?
Enterprise retail across grocery, restaurants, lodging and hospitality, convenience, liquor, pharmacy, parking, sports and entertainment, discount, and specialty formats, plus acquirers and banks.
What products/services do you provide?
Payment middleware connecting POS systems, devices, and processors. Core capabilities: in-person and alternative payment acceptance (digital wallets, gift and stored-value), multi-provider routing, end-to-end encryption and PCI scope reduction, remote estate management across terminal fleets, network-outage resilience through store-and-forward, and white-label payment development. We are device-agnostic and integrate across mixed POS and OS environments.
Name one fun fact that makes your company different from others.
Some of our engineers have been at Tender Retail longer than some of our customers have been in business. That kind of continuity is rare in payments. Being part of Constellation Software, which holds its portfolio companies for the long term, is what makes sure it stays that way. Forty years, same rails, same team, and structurally set up to keep going.
What is the most encouraging thing you see for the future of the retail IT industry?
Retailers are getting more sophisticated about payment infrastructure. Some choose native integration to simplify operations. Others separate their payment logic from POS, acquirers, and hardware to keep negotiating leverage and adapt faster. The encouraging trend is that both paths are getting stronger, so retailers can pick the architecture that fits their business rather than the one a vendor sells them.
