mrgn.ai is an AI-powered financial intelligence platform for restaurant operators. It connects to POS and accounting systems and delivers real-time insights on margins, labor, and menu performance — giving operators a CFO-level view without the CFO.

Why did you join RSPA?
We joined RSPA because we believe channel partnerships only work when they’re built on genuine relationships — and this community is where those relationships live.

Restaurant technology is a relationship business. The VARs and resellers in RSPA’s network aren’t just selling point-of-sale systems. They’re trusted advisors who’ve spent years earning the confidence of the operators they serve. They know which locations are struggling, which owners are ready to grow, and what it actually takes to implement technology in a working kitchen. That kind of depth can’t be replicated by a cold email list.

mrgn.ai sits at the intersection of AI and restaurant financial intelligence. We give multi-location operators the margin visibility, scenario modeling, and actionable insights that used to require a full finance team. What are the core values of your company?
Restaurant and hospitality is one of the hardest businesses in the world to operate. Margins are thin, costs are unpredictable, labor is relentless, and the data that could help operators make better decisions is scattered across systems that don’t talk to each other. Most operators know something is off before they can prove it — and by the time the numbers confirm it, the damage is done.

mrgn.ai is purpose-built for the restaurant and food and beverage industry, with a focus on the operator segments where financial complexity is highest and enterprise-grade tools have historically been out of reach.
Our primary focus is multi-location fast casual and QSR operators — typically 3 to 20 locations — where food cost, labor efficiency, and menu performance require active, data-driven decisions every day. These operators are running real complexity without the finance teams that larger chains take for granted.

We also serve casual dining independents and franchise groups, where prime cost tracking, unit-level benchmarking, and menu engineering are the difference between protecting margin and losing it quietly over time.

Name one fun fact that makes your company different from others.
When we dug into why restaurant operators weren’t using their POS data, the answer wasn’t that they didn’t care. It was that nobody had ever translated it into a decision. That gap is what mrgn was built to close.

What is the most encouraging thing you see for the future of the retail IT industry?
The most encouraging thing we see is that the gap between what enterprise technology can do and what an independent operator can actually access is closing faster than anyone expected — and AI is the reason why.

For years, the restaurant and retail IT industry sold operators hardware and software that captured enormous amounts of data and then did very little with it. POS systems know everything about a business and surface almost none of it in a way that drives a real decision. That’s not a criticism of the technology — it’s a description of where the category has been.

What’s changing is that AI makes it possible to take all of that underutilized data and turn it into something an operator can act on in minutes, not months. The infrastructure is already there. The integrations exist. The data is being collected. The missing layer has always been intelligence — and that layer is now buildable at a cost and speed that wasn’t possible three years ago.
