RSPA will hold its annual membership meeting at RetailNOW 2012 immediately following the General Session on Monday, July 30^th. All RSPA members are encouraged to attend this meeting where new Board of Directors will be elected. To prepare you for this meeting, we’ve reached out to the nominees to find out why they would like to serve on your industry association board.

“The RSPA is an organization that designs, executes and lobbies for strategies and concepts to support a sustainable, channel-based point of sale industry with solid margins. One of my personal passions as a computer scientist, a technologist and the leader of a point of sale ISV business is to identify, adopt and deploy cutting edge technology that our retail customers can use to be more efficient and competitive in a challenging business environment.  I’d like to drive this passion into strategy and education that helps our reseller members master new retail-focused technologies so they can maintain their relevance within the point of sale world and find new sources of revenue to maintain and grow their businesses.”

“Bob Dylan once sang, "The times, they are a'changin", and those words were never more true than they are today for the state of our industry; from PCI to NFC to a dozen other acronyms, we are an industry in a state of flux. Organizations like the RSPA are going to be the ones to help us arrive safely on the other side through exemplary stewardship, education and oversight, with input from individuals on the frontlines, seeing the issues firsthand. In a nutshell, I am hoping to serve on the RSPA Board of Directors in order to give back to - and to help steer - the industry that has given so much to me personally.”

“My desire is to continue to serve on the board and be involved in as many tasks as possible to see RSPA grow and prosper. I feel my involvement as co-chair of the membership the past 3 years has assisted membership to grow by more than 250 new members and I look forward to helping drive a higher growth number in future years. I look forward to getting engaged with the state restaurant and other associations to help sell the benefits of RSPA and the value of buying from only certified RSPA members.”

“It has been my honor serving the membership in the past as a board member and officer. We have many challenges facing our industry including: non-traditional competitors, cloud, mobility and business continuation. Joe and his team have done a magnificent job elevating the professionalism of our industry association; I ask to serve you again to be a part of taking our association to next level.”

“I have been an active retailer and VAR for the past 30 years. I believe in assisting others in our industry to grow the channel professionally. Partnering is a key and RPSA has been a great “tool” toward these goals and I would utilize the board position to continue this.”

“Membership has its privileges. As a proud Canadian member of the RSPA, I am honored to be asked to run for a position on the Board of Directors. Many of the benefits and services offered by the RSPA that my American Counterparts are currently enjoying are unavailable to Canadian members for the simple reason that there has not been someone willing to take on the challenge of implementing them in Canada. I am up for that challenge and believe this will encourage more participation from Canadians in our field and further strengthen our great organization.”
