Committees are the life line between RSPA and the members. It’s a way for members to get involved and provide their expertise to make this association stronger and more beneficial to other members. We encourage readers to take a look at these committees, find one that interests you, and learn more about joining. It’s a great way to have your voice heard and make a difference in the evolution of the retail technology industry.

Business & Entrepreneurship
The Business and Entrepreneurship Committee mission is to identify and implement tools and best practices which can help Reseller businesses.
The committee is made up of seasoned Resellers who are identifying opportunities as well as problems that other resellers may be experiencing in their respective businesses.
The information provided by the committee should help large, small, new and established Resellers address these opportunities and problems in a more efficient and productive manor.;

Canadian Community
The Canadian committee is responsible for identifying membership benefits specific to Canadian Members as well as helping create the template for RSPA global initiatives.

Education & Certification
The education and certification committee works closely with RSPA’s Education Department to identify funding opportunities for RSPA’s education program as well as giving insight on educational needs within the industry. Committee members are also asked to help formulate criteria for RSPA’s certification and certificate programs.

Strategic Technology Solutions
The Strategic Technology Solutions committee (formally Emerging Technology) works to identify emerging technologies that may be of benefit/interest to RSPA members and/or their customers. This committee is also responsible for supplying connect with emerging technologies articles when possible. One or more persons on this committee will also be active members of ARTS, updating the committee and ultimately the membership on ARTS initiatives.

Data Security
The PCI Compliance committee was formed to help the retail technology industry better understand the realities and risks of PCI Compliance and to give tier 3 and tier 4 merchants a voice through the companies that deliver their payment technologies. Since July 2006, the committee has been meeting every month, creating mediums to help retail technology professionals and the end users become more comfortable with the language and information surrounding this emerging issue, including the release of the PCI DVD, ‘Are you at Risk?’ In 2009, RSPA joined PCI SSC in an effort to provide RSPA members clarification of the PCI Regulation and Standards and to have voice in the creation and implementation of future standards.

Scholarships & Awards
The RSPA Scholarship Committee is responsible for raising money and awareness about RSPA’s scholarship program through various activities such as identifying and writing success stories for publication and managing the annual silent auction. The committee is also responsible for evaluating and retooling, when applicable, RSPA’s vendor awards of excellence and future award criteria .

Vendor Working Group
The Vendor Working Group is comprised of vendors, distributors, ISV partners as well as RSPA Board of Directors. This inclusive group of industry representatives helped develop strategies for RSPA as it transitioned from a dealer association to an industry association. The committee’s main focus is to promote growth of the RSPA membership via expansion of RSPA’s value add and benefit strategies for all members. The committee is instrumental in driving full channel collaboration between the vendors and value-added-reseller member groups by defining the needs and desires of each member group, and how they relate to one another. The committee is also a voice piece to the RSPA membership on industry trends and direction from a vendor perspective.

W2W - Women in Retail
W2W was created to provide a support network and resource for women as they enter and continue to advance in the retail technology industry. Any and all retail technology women professionals can join W2W as it is not exclusive to RSPA members. By joining you will receive information about this group, upcoming events and networking opportunities.
