RetailNOW Draws Record Crowd 3rd Year in a Row

CHARLOTTE, NC | August 3, 2011

Charlotte, NC - The Retail Solutions Providers Association's (RSPA) RetailNOW 2011, held July 24 - 27 in Orlando, Fl. drew over fourteen hundred attendees, representing eight different countries, from all markets of the retail technology industry. With 134 exhibitors, attendance was up 8% over last year cementing RetailNOW as the show where the industry meets.

Keys to the show's growth include:

  • Over 22 education sessions with 4 different tracks.
  • 4 panel discussions including the Industry Leaders Panel featuring top executives from BlueStar, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Ingram Micro, NCR, and ScanSource; and the Technology Vision Panel featuring representatives from IHL Services, pcAmerica, Radiant, IBM, Epson and StoreNext.
  • 4 Industry Focused Education Sessions pre and post RetailNOW 2011.
  • Over 25 member-companies took advantage of RSPA's free meeting space to hold their channel meeting in conjunction with RetailNOW 2011.

Additional show highlights included RetailNEXT exhibitors who featured emerging technologies at their booths. RSPA also held its annual General Session meeting where members voted for new Board of Directors to fill three vacant reseller seats and one vacant vendor seat (see complete list below).

On Tuesday, July 26 RSPA held its annual Awards Banquet. Presented was the Hall of Fame, RSPA Awards of Excellence along with the RSPA/VSR Innovative Solution Awards. The Awards of Excellence are the only awards in the retail technology industry where dealers vote for their favorite vendors. RSPA reseller members can vote on the best hardware provider, applications software provider, distributors, consumables, electronic payment provider, and reseller support/customer support services.

The RSPA/VSR Innovative Solution Awards recognize outstanding achievements in technologically advanced multi-vendor solutions serving SMBs. These awards are open to any reseller of retail technology with a solution that falls under one of the following markets: Fine Dining, Quick Service, Specialty Retail, Credit/Processing, Supermarket, In-Store Customer Touch Points, and best ISV/VAR collaboration category.
