Who should submit a proposal?

Industry experts and those interested in presenting engaging information that helps "raise the industry to the next level" are encouraged to submit an education session proposal for RetailNOW.

What considerations should I be aware of before submitting a propasal?

  • Presentations should challenge and educate our member audience by addressing the current and future issues of the Retail Technology Industry - as related to the reseller and vendor. The presentation should not include propriety information or commercialization.
  • Each speaker selected understands that he or she will not be paid an honorarium or reimbursed for expenses. However, speakers will receive one complimentary registration to the Annual Convention. If the program is selected for presentation at RetailNOW, you and any other speakers agree to coordinate a PowerPoint presentation for this program and agree to submit this in advance to RSPA. (Guidelines for presentation development and submission will be sent to speakers once they have been selected).
  • Sessions can be scheduled at any time during the convention, and speakers must be available on any days of the show. Speakers will be notified of acceptance by February 26, 2010. The speaker’s name and company will be listed in any promotion of your education session.
  • In addition to the online submission, please submit:
o The presentation title, short abstract and brief speaker biography, between 100-150
words, to be used in the show program and other related marketing material.
o High resolution press-quality photo to be used in the show guide and related
                   marketing material.

What are the topic areas?

The educational program is comprised of 50 or 75-minute sessions. Total presentation time includes time for questions from the audience. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
  • Emerging Technology
  • Better Your Business
  • Sales, Service & Support
  • Industry Trends & Issues
Who is the audience?

The convention draws together dealer owners, resellers, VARs, product and sales managers, sales staff, service technicians, help desk and support technicians, marketing personnel and customer service representatives.

How are sessions selected?
  1. Strategic relevance to Retail Technology resellers
  2. Timeliness of the topic
  3. Clear and specific learning objectives
  4. Significance and depth of content
  5. Innovation and new approaches to current and emerging issues

What is the timeline for education submission and approval?
